1893 - 1941 The founder of the present store site in Stresa, has been in the far 1893 Giovanni Pessano. Drawer and creator of artistic objects in gold and silver, could inspire the work of artisans and silversmiths, producing rare refined taste objects. For a few years he had prepared a "commercial shop window" in Milan to be able to be to contact with the town customers and for best coordinate the artisans' work. Pessano had also opened a store in Bordighera, famous turist resort of the Ligurian Coast, where he was developping the commericial activity in the winter period. Bordighera, as well as Stresa to the first of '900, were frequented by the nobility and by the piedmontese and lombard rich middle classes. 1941 - 1977 Pessano's son Umberto after taking his diploma in accounting, decided to keep up his father's commercial activity showing the same artistic and entrepreneurial attitude. When his father Giovanni died in 1941, he became the owner of the firm with the precious help of his wife Luisa, Luigi Forlano's daughter, one of the earlier eleven promoters and players of the Football Team Juventus. The store in Bordighera was sold in order to better devote to the activity in Stresa. Here, the Royal House of Savoia had a Summer residence: Villa Ducale. Queen Margherita and other aristocratic families, chose Pessano's store for their shopping. Umberto, as his father, revealed to have a real turn for artistic designs and he specialized in the creation of silver objects completely handmade by clever artisans. That is why in 1903, the Royal House granted to Pessano the very valued patent of Supplier of the Royal House of Savoia. After 1977 Then there was the gloomy years of the Second World War and of the rebuilding, but Umberto could lead the firm adapting the offer to the different and various market trends. In the 70s the "Core Business" was the thematic collecting of elephants, turtles, little pigs, frogs, owls, handbells, small boxes, etc, in different materials. In 1977, Giovanni, the founder's homonymous nephew, and his wife Pinuccia devoted and still they do to the selection of exclusive and creative objects, also taking care of the silver sector. Today our store must be visited for its original objects suitable to be exceptional presents starting from the lowest price. Our numerous customers still turn to us for the originality of the items, for our kindness and competence, acquired through three generations.
